Apple Sauce
MAKES: 1 CUP • TOTAL TIME: 15 MINUTES
Ingredients:
4 pink lady apples
2 tbsps water
½ tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp apple cider vinegar
Directions:
Peel, core and chop the apples into large chunks and place in small. Add water, maple syrup and cinnamon, then cover with saucepan lid and place over medium heat. Simmering, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and falling apart, about 10 minutes.
Remove the pot from heat and blend with a stick mixer until smooth.
Mix in apple cider vinegar. Adjust to taste (for a sweeter sauce, add more maple syrup; for a more tarte sauce, add more apple cider vinegar.
May be served hot or cold.
